WOW! Has it really been several months since we have had a book club meeting? Where has the time gone? While I know I have been distracted by the joys and anticipation of this pregnancy, I am sure you guys have been wondering what's going on? I apologize for failing in my "duties" to post regular reminders. But I wonder if this might be a good time to re-evaluate our little book club to determine how best to proceed.
I have enjoyed the opportunity to not only explore new books I would never have thought to look in to before, but to also fellowship with a lovely group of ladies - some of which I don't get to see regularly otherwise. However, as the school year starts up (and babies are being born!) I recognize time will once again be tight. So.....thoughts? suggestions? Do we meet less often or on a differnt day of the week, do we look at other avenues of communicating, do we even want to continue meeting?
Let me know your thoughts and I will compile them all together for us to decide how to proceed!
Till then, I leave you with this exciting thought.....less than three weeks before Baby Madelyn is here! (see, aren't you super excited?!?! :) ).

May Meeting - Night Out
All - I haven't heard from everyone, but the few who have responded indicated that maybe going to see a movie or dinner on Tuesday, 5/24/11 might be the best option. So, if you are interested in meeting up sometime on Tuesday let me know. I was thinking we could explore a couple of options:
Dinner only - could be just about anywhere....
Movie (I threw out Water for Elephants, but we could always see something else) at either a traditional theater or someplace like Movie Tavern or Studio Movie Grill where we can eat and watch the movie.
There is a Movie Tavern in Denton (so perhaps maybe Mary can join us this time???) Or one at the Hulen Mall in Forth Worth or the one in Arlington at Green Oaks and 20/287. It doens't look like Water for Elephants is playing at any of the Movie Tavern locations, but it is playing at the Parks Mall...I didn't look up any other locations though.
Of course, I like either choice that lets me eat (hello, I am pregnant and I have only gained 12 pounds so far, so I figure I still have some room to play around with eating for a while! :) ). But as long a I can get popcorn and a drink I should be happy either way! :)
if it is easier to just email back and forth rather than try to respond to this post, I can shoot out a quick email to everyone that way too. Let me know your thoughts!

May Meeting
So far, it looks like we need to just go ahead and cancel for May 19th. It looks like we may not be able to reschedule for next Thursday either based on some of the feedback I have been given. So perhaps we should consider either moving the meeting to the 23rd, 24th or 25th or just doing it via the website.
Katie suggested that even if we don't have an official meeting, perhaps we could get together to eat or go to a movie....Water for Elephants (one of our recent book club picks) is still playing at the theater I think. Would anyone be interested in a less formal meeting to go see that movie either this weekend some time or the 23rd, 24th or 25th? Either way, a good excuse to get out of the house for a few hours is always welcomed!
Again, just reply and let me know your thoughts....move the meeting to the first of next week, scrap the meeting and do it virtually, scrap the meeting and go see a movie or out to eat either this weekend or the first of next week?
Thanks!

May Meeting Reminder
Stupid reminders....mine didn't pop up again for this month. I am sorry for the delay in getting this reminder out. The May meeting is scheduled for this Thursday, May 19th with Jen hosting.
I know there are at least a couple of you who have already said you cannot make the 19th. So I wasn't sure if that would be a good day for everyone else or not. I guess we should first get a sense of who may be coming and then, Jen, you can tell us if you would like to move the meeting to another night and/or where you would like to host.
If we can't make the timing work out because of schedules this month (like some people who would like to keep working on their wedding plans or something silly like that) then perhaps we could do a "virtual meeting" and post our "discussion" about this month's book here? We could also post Jen's pick for this month. (You could just post comments to the blog post about the book. Though, I am not sure if you all realize this, but you are all contributors to this blog. You can actually log in and post to the blog directly). That's just another option if we can't get the dates to line up for the majority....
Now I am off to figure out why my reminders aren't working! Let me know your thoughts on the meeting this month (just reply to the email with this post and it will email me your response.)
Thanks!

Meeting Reminder for April
Hi all!
Just a reminder that this month's book club meeting will be this next Thursday, April 28th at Linda Blanchard's house or place of her choosing. I assume we are still going to shoot for 6:30 as usual, so Linda, let me know if we need to change up the time or location.
I hope you all are enjoying (or have finished!) the book for this month!
See you in about a week!

The Book This month
The book this month is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.
Also, Linda is hosting next month and has a potential schedule conflict. We discussed tonight moving the meeting to the last Thursday in April (4/28/11) instead to allow Linda some time to recoup from her trip. :)
Just reply and let me know if that works.
Nighty Night!
