All - Mickey had a good idea that I think she texted everyone about, but just in case you miss the text message, here it is via email/blog! :)
The night of our December Book Blub Meeting Theater Arlington is putting on a Christmas Musical at 7:30. Would you all be interested in going to the musical - maybe a quick bite to eat before hand - for our December meeting?
If so, let me or Mickey know so we can get the tickets and coordinate and what not.

Series Suggestion
Hi all - I know we haven't done anything like this before, but I am finishing up an awesome series of books on the side that I thought I would share about. I almost changed my book pick for my month to the first one in this series, but as I get through the entire thing, I realize it is really best read as a series. And since I know you all don't want me to pick FOUR books to read in one month (and I am still begging forgiveness for my last picks!) I thought I would just share them as suggestions for reading on the side.
The series is called the Legends of the Guardian - King series By: Karen Hannock. The books are as follows:
The Light of Eidon - Book 1
The Shadow Within - Book 2
Shadow Over Kiriath - Book 3
Return of the Guardian-King - Book 4
I am about half way through the 4th book. I honestly think the series doesn't start to get good until the end of the first book, but it is well worth the sluggish start. It is EXACTLY what I needed to be reading right now - almost like it was written specifically for me. And it has a pretty good love story (two actually!) which I always like! And it is very G, so nothing that would make you blush. :) It is a fantasy based theme - dragons and castles and kings and queens, "mythical creatures" and such. I know I am not using proper literary terms (sorry Katie!) but I hope you get the idea. I am not usually in to those kinds of things and that may be why it was hard to get going in the first book. Patrick actually convinced me to keep reading. So it may not be for you, but I thought I would share any ways.
Aside from our selections for this month, what have you been reading lately? We could always do some additional posts about other suggested readins or favorite books to add to our lists - you know for all that extra reading time we all have! :)

Book Club Schedule and such
Hi All!
Great meeting last night! We missed those of you who were not there. Mary got all techy and we used her computer hooked up to her TV to listen to a clip from an interview with the author of our book for this month. (I attached a link to the clip, you have to go towards the last half of the clip to hear the interview.) VERY Interesting story. I can't wait to read the book!
THE BOOK: A Scattered Life By: Karen McQuestion. We know for sure it is available via the Kindle and it looks like you can buy a hard copy (paperback) online from Amazon as well. It may be in bookstores as well - if anyone finds it anywhere else, please let the group know.
Also, here is the schedule for the next couple of months regarding the meetings. I will get this posted a bit better soon, but wanted to get something up asap so we can plan ahead. If we need to move or change or what not we can always do that as well.
9/16/10 - Michelle
10/21/10 - Patty
11/18/10 - Anna
12/16/10 - We did dinner out last December, do we still want to plan for that this year?
1/20/11 - Kellie
2/17/11 - Shaundra
3/17/11 - Megan
4/21/11 - Linda
5/19/11 - Jen
6/16/11 - Katie
That's as far as we got. Of course, we have plenty of time to decide what to do after that! :)
In the mean time, Read On!

Katie's Pick for June/July
Sorry I didn't get this out sooner! Things got a little crazy around here, and it totally slipped my mind. I picked The Life of Pi by Yann Martel. I haven't read it yet, so I make no promises...

Da Book Whores Book Club - TEST
Well, ladies, let's try this out.
I have set this up - I think - so that it will email you when there is a new post. I have also set this up so that you all have "rights" to post or add things to this blog. We may have to have "tutorial" on how to post and such, but this might be a good thing if it works. We shall see.
Once we get the books for the year, I will get them posted.
Sorry for all the changes, hopefully we will find a format that works for us!
